William Byrd: O quam gloriosum est regnum – Benedictio, et claritas (1589)

O quam gloriosum est regnum in quo cum
Christo gaudent omnes sancti. Amicti stolis
albis sequuntur Agnum quocunque ierit,
laudantes Deum et dicentes:

O how glorious is the kingdom in which all the
saints rejoice with Christ. Clothed in white robes
they follow the Lamb wherever he goes, praising
God and saying:

Benedictio, et claritas, et sapientia, et gratiarum
actio, honor, virtus et fortitudo Deo nostro in
saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Blessing, and splendour, and wisdom, and
thanksgiving, honour, power and might be to our
God for ever and ever! Amen.

Part [I], Magnifi cat antiphon for All Saints,
Sarum and Roman Rites, and Revelation 7: 9, 10;
part [II], Revelation 7: 12
