Jesus is the brightest light, Jesus is our Father’s treasure. Thus he is our heart’s delight, source of never-failing pleasure. Jesus is the fairest name, e’er by earth or angels spoken, saving health it doth betoken, strong the rebel heart to tame. Jesus is the fountain sweet, quenching thirst, of water lavish; Jesus is the sun, whose heat with delight the world doth ravish. Lay but Jesus to thine heart, chasing far despair and sadness, name in heaven and earth of gladness; may we ne’er from thee depart. (C. F. Richter)
