Veni, Creator Spiritus
Come Creator Spirit
mentes tuorum visita,
The hearts of thy (faithful) visit
imple superna gratia,
Fill with heavenly grace
quae tu creasti pectora.
Our hearts which thou hast created.

Qui Paraclitus diceris,
Thou are called Paraclete,
donum Dei altissimi,
Divine gift of the most high,
fons vivus, ignis, caritas
Fountain of life, fire, charity,
et spiritalis unctio.
and spiritual annointing.

Tu septiformis munere,
Thou sevenfold gifts
digitus paternae dexterae
Finger of the Father's right-hand,
tu rite promissum Patris
Thou duly promised by the Father,
sermone ditans guttura.
With speech enriching (our) lips.

Accende lumen sensibus,
Kindle light in our senses,
infunde amorem cordibus,
Infuse love in our hearts,
infirma nostri corporis,
The weakness of our bodies
virtute firmans perpeti.
with power confirming perpetually.

Hostem repellas longius
The enemy repel afar,
pacemque dones protinus;
And peace give us at once:
ductore sic te praevio
Thou our leader, Thou before (us),
vitemus omne noxium.
We shall avoid everythng harmful.

Per te sciamus da Patrem
Through Thee may we know the Father,
noscamus atque Filium,
May we know likewise the Son,
te utriusque Spiritum
and Thee the Spirit from both,
credamus omni tempore.
May we believe at all times.

Deo Patri sit gloria,
To God the Father be glory,
et Filio qui a mortuis
and the Son who from the dead
Surrexit, ac Paraclito,
has risen and to the Paraclete,
in saeculorum saecula.
forever and ever.
